Congressional Prayer Caucus

Another blog that I read linked to the Congressional Prayer Caucus website. A great opportunity to get involved in prayer for our nation. Taking active action steps always solidifies our intentions into action whether it is prayer or any part of our discipleship journey. The idea of building a wall of prayer around our nation is superb. Check it out.
Also, don't forget that anyone is welcome to come to the church Tuesdays at 7 PM for prayer for the US.

Prayer Times --- There's one for you!!!

There are numerous opportunities to be involved in prayer here at CRMC. I am doing this mostly from memory so heopefully I do not miss any. Just wanted to throw out a list and challenege each of us to find a spot to get involved. That is, in addition to our own personal prayer time. WE DO NOT PRAY ENOUGH
  • Every Sunday two people are praying during the service
  • Every Wednesday a prayer sheet is circulated
  • Phone and email prayer chain
  • Tuesdays at 7 PM -- Prayer for our country and leaders
  • Thursdays at 8 AM -- Men's Prayer
  • A monthly Men's prayer breakfast was just launched this month
  • Sundays at 8 AM --

And the winner is...

I wasn't able to attend the chili cook-off but I heard it was a great time for all. Congrats to Dave Ellis on the championship. I think the real winners were those that got to try all the different chilis. Look for more great events like this one in the coming months.

You'd better be at church on Sunday

Pastor Bud returns from Keystone, SD Sunday and will be sharing from his heart. God has done amazing things to put all the necessary steps in place for CRMC to move along the dicipleship journey that He has planned for us. This 12 days of training I believe is going to change the way we look at our own discipleship; which will in turn lead us on a charge to reconnect a dying world to God. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS SERVICE!!!

Casting Crowns - Does Anybody Hear Her

Are we too busy "doing church" to see the needs of the world around us??

The "New" Nursery Is Open

Last Sunday we officially opened the "new" church nursery. Actually it's in the same place you have always found it but it has been remodeled for better use of the space. Kim Foy, Susie Johnson, and Pastor Bud were the dirving forces behind the remodel. A few changes/ highlights:

  • new bathroom sink and flooring

  • new paint all around

  • opening of the wall bertween the room for more space.

  • An improved privacy area for nursing moms

  • a new entrance counter for the safety and security of our kids.

Stay aware for more updates regarding this area of ministry in the coming weeks. A couple of photos so you get the idea (they don't do the great work justice):

Men's Prayer Breakfast

We just finished with our initial Men's Prayer Breakfast here at CRMC. A big shout out and thanks to Aaron Johnson for both organizing and doing the cooking! It was a great time of fellowship and coming to the Lord to pray for our church, families, and His will. There were 10 of us this morning. We need double that next time. Stay tuned for further updates on these events. They are for men of ALL ages. We were represented from about age 5 to the 60's today. Here's a couple pics:

Mississippi Task Force

Have you ever wanted to go on a missions trip but never had the money? This is the ultimate opportunity. We are forming a group of men and teens to go to Mississippi August 5-12. We will be working in an area that still is in great need of help following Hurricane Katrina. If you're interested, contact the church office. The cost of this weeklong trip will likely be only in the $200 range. More information will be coming soon. Pray right now and ask God if He wants you on this trip.

The Kingdom keeps expanding

I just wanted to quickly post about something exciting that God has allowed our congregation to be a part of in the last week. Through ministries, relationships, and connections to CRMC at least 6 PEOPLE HAVE DEDICATED THEIR LIVES TO CHRIST. There may be more, but that's what I know of. These include
  • a 6th grade boy
  • 2 local women through a lunch event where an attender regularly goes
  • a girl in Cris' Sunday School class
  • a 53 year old man who has lived about as far away from God as possible who is in the hospital

Take a minute and thank God for working in the lives of these people and for allowing CRMC to be a part of it.

Daylight Savings Time -- Don't forget to change the clock

Just a reminder that the clock "Springs Forward" at 2 AM this Sunday. That means that Sunday School starts at what is now 8 AM. Make sure to change your clocks Saturday before bed (unless they automatically adjust).

Financial Peace University

We are currently running a 13 week course called Financial Peace University (FPU) taught by Dave Ramsey. If you are interested get in contact with the church office. The current class is in week 4 but there are opportunities to do a "sneak peek" week as well as planning to form another class possibly in the Fall. Have you ever thought to yourself how great it would be to not have think if you are spending the grocery or mortgage money if you respond to someone else's need? Do you really have Financial Peace? God wants us to not be in bondage in any area of our lives. That includes finances. It's time to make that step!

Not sure of where you are financially? That should be your first clue. Click HERE to get a free Financial Reality Check.
